tvrepairinfo.com Finding bad solder connections is generally an easy thing to do when you have a good magnifying glass and a trained eye, but for someone just starting out doing electronic repair they may fail to realize that tiny little crack they can barely see is enough to make a Television quit working. Unfortunately my camera was not able to show the detail I had hoped it would but I think this video will still give you a general idea of what to look for. If your looking for some helpful books on LCD TV and Power supply repair here are a few I recommend.Troubleshooting & Repairing LCD TVs by John Preher at http For someone new to electronics the first few pages of this book may be a bit challenging but the majority of this book is easy reading with lots of pictures, diagrams and useful troubleshooting techniques. Johns book gives you a good idea about the main test points you should look for and their approximate voltages. ======================================== How to troubleshoot and repair Switch Mode Power supplies by Jestine Yong at davestv.jestinemichellepow.click2sell.eu This book is a bit spendy but I’m still glad I purchased it. In my opinion it’s a must read. Jestine is good at getting right to the main points you need to understand about troubleshooting this kind of power supply and its associated feedback circuits. Since a majority of the problems I have seen on LCD TVs are related to bad power supplies I figured it will pay for itself many times over

@007foppe I can’t tell you what the problem is but if it were mine I would put it on a watt meter and see if its drawing excessive power. If was normal I would suspect your house wiring could be at fault.

I also need to try and locate a new signalboard for a toshiba 43HT72. i thnk it is. i ran into 2 of these if your not extremely careful on removing the hyper modules, youll crack the board slightly, rendering convergence useless. unfortunately the traces are like microns away from one another…

this is sad when i know every board you pick up and show in your video, exactly which TV they go in. lol.
